China silent on reviews of skipping a G-20 meet in Arunachal Pradesh

China declined to touch upon reviews of its officers skipping a G-20 assembly held in Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday.

By Press Trust of India: China on Monday declined to react to reviews that its officers skipped a “confidential” G-20 assembly held in Arunachal Pradesh, which Beijing claims as a part of the mainland.

When requested about reviews that China has abstained from the assembly held on Sunday at Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning instructed a media briefing right here “I am not aware of what you said”.

“I have to check it with my colleagues,” she mentioned.

The query and her reply didn’t determine within the official transcript of the media briefing posted on the Chinese Foreign Ministry web site hours later.

China claims Arunachal Pradesh as a part of South Tibet. India firmly rejects China’s claims and asserts that the state is an integral a part of the nation.

Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang visited New Delhi earlier this month to attend the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

Qin additionally met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on March 2. The assembly was the primary between Jaishankar and Qin after the latter turned the Chinese overseas minister in December.
