Australia’s Canberra airport was evacuated after a gunman fired 5 rounds of bullets within the check-in space. Police have detained a suspect.

Australian Federal Police stated one individual was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered.

Police stated CCTV was reviewed and it was believed that just one individual was accountable for the incident.

The ACT Policing confirmed they had been referred to as to the airport round 1:30 pm following experiences of gunshots in the principle terminal constructing. However, no accidents have been reported. The airport was positioned underneath lockdown subsequently.
