Armenia experiences new spherical of clashes with Azerbaijan

Fresh clashes erupted between Azerbaijan and Armenia on Wednesday, a day after almost 100 troopers have been killed within the deadliest combating between the ex-Soviet republics since 2020.

At least 49 Armenian and 50 Azerbaijani navy have been killed on Tuesday within the clashes, with each Yerevan and Baku blaming one another for the combating which prompted an enchantment for calm from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The clashes have raised fears of one other main armed battle within the former Soviet Union whereas Russia’s navy is tied up with the invasion of Ukraine.

Azerbaijan accused Armenia, which is in a navy alliance with Moscow and residential to a Russian navy base, of firing mortars and artillery in opposition to its navy items.

“Our positions are periodically being fired against at the moment,” Azerbaijan’s defence ministry mentioned. “Our units are taking the necessary response measures.”
