By India Today Web Desk: A 72-year-old German lady has been arrested after she allegedly turned off her roommate’s ventilator in hospital as a result of the sound of the machine aggravated her, the Guardian reported.

Reportedly, the lady switched off the ventilator twice. The incident occurred within the south-western metropolis of Mannheim on November 29 night.

The 72-year-old lady was detained on suspicion of tried manslaughter after the incident.

According to prosecutors and police, the lady allegedly switched off a girl’s ventilator and when she was instructed that the machine is essential for the affected person, she turned it off once more later within the day.

The affected person isn’t at risk however she nonetheless required intensive care, authorities mentioned. “The patient had to be revived,” authorities on the hospital added.
