By India Today Web Desk: Greece safely rescued 9 migrants who went lacking after their boat sank off the island of Evia on Tuesday morning. However, a search operation was underway as dozens of others had been suspected to be lacking, in line with the coast guard.

“Nine people have been rescued from the boat, which sank off the southern tip of Evia,” Reuters quoted Greek coast guard spokesman Nikos Kokkalas as saying.

“There were reportedly at least 68 migrants on the boat,” Kokkalas added.

A coast guard vessel, a helicopter and two boats are concerned within the rescue operation in opposition to the seething wind, the coast guard said in an announcement.
