3 US Marines killed after Marine Corps Osprey plane crashes throughout coaching drill in Australia

Three US Marines died and 20 have been injured after a Marine Corps plane – Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey tiltrotor plane – crashed in Australia throughout a coaching train on Sunday, August 27.

The plane, which crashed at round 9.30 AM native time, was carrying 23 Marines, out of whom three died and 5 others have been rushed to the Royal Darwin Hospital in a severe situation.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reportedly stated that solely Americans have been injured within the crash. The Northern Territory Chief Minister Natasha Fyles has assured help in any doable manner.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin supplied his condolences to the households of the deceased and those injured. The Osprey crashed throughout Exercise Predators Run, a coaching train involving troops from the US, Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, and East Timor. The plane was flying from Darwin to Melville.

Northern Territory Police Commission Michael Murphy stated that two US Marine Osprey plane had left Darwin on Sunday morning and flew in the direction of Tiwi Islands, about 80 kilometres away. About 150 US Marines are reportedly based mostly in Darwin and as much as 2,500 troops rotate via town yearly.
