On Saturday, 10 folks fleeing the financial disaster within the island nation reached Tamil Nadu’s Dhanushkodi illegally. However, they have been later detained by the marine police.

Three households from completely different components of Sri Lanka got here to Dhanushkodi. One of the households even has a three-month-old child with them.

The folks reached Dhanushkodi at round 1 am. On getting details about them, the Rameswaram Marine Police rescued the Sri Lankan Tamils ​​and introduced them to Rameswaram Marine Police Station for investigation. After the investigation, they are going to be handed over to the Mandapam refugee camp.

Since March 22, as many as 198 Sri Lankans have come as refugees to India through Dhanushkodi.

Sri Lanka is going through the worst financial disaster since independence in 1948, which has led to an acute scarcity of important gadgets like meals, drugs, cooking fuel and gas throughout the nation.

The avenue protests had been triggered throughout the nation over the poor dealing with of the financial disaster and the shortage of accountability to it.
