16 killed, 35 injured as bus falls into river in Nepal’s Bara

At least 16 individuals have been killed and 35 others injured on Thursday in a bus accident in Nepal’s Madhesh province.

A bus skidded off the highway and fell right into a river in Nepal’s Bara district, killing 16 individuals, PTI reported, quoting media reviews. As many as 35 individuals have been additionally injured within the mishap in Nepal’s Madhesh province.

The bus was heading in the direction of Birgunj from Narayangadh when the incident occurred. An preliminary probe carried out by the police revealed that the accident happened resulting from excessive pace. About 50 individuals have been on board, police mentioned.

The injured victims have been taken to Hetauda, Chure Hill, and Sancho Hospital for medical therapy, The Rising Nepal newspaper reported. The injured individuals have been recognized on the Hetauda Hospital, My Republica newspaper reported, quoting Superintendent of Police Bamdev Gautam.
