1 killed, 6 injured as Myanmar fires mortar shells in Bangladesh

At least one individual was killed and 6 others ,together with a Rohingya little one, sustained essential accidents in firing and mortar shelling from throughout the Myanmar border in Gumdhum of Bandarban on Friday.

The mortar shells landed in no man’s land, injuring three Rohingya individuals within the night. One of them, Md Iqbal, 17, succumbed to accidents, Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibrizi mentioned.

Earlier within the day, a Bangladeshi youth was injured in a landmine explosion alongside the Headmanpara border space at Tumbru. The injured has been recognized as 22-year-old Athwaing Tangchangya. He misplaced one in every of his legs within the explosion.

The incident occurred at round 3:15 pm on Friday close to pillar No 35 of the Myanmar border. Locals mentioned Athwaing went close to the border space to deliver his cattle dwelling when he stepped onto a landmine.

Athwaing was first admitted to Kutupalong MSF Hospital after which Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. He was later referred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

INCIDENT SPARKS PANIC

Meanwhile, the incident sparked panic among the many residents of the world. Border Guard Bangladesh has stepped up patrols and surveillance within the space following the incident.

Locals mentioned that the Myanmar forces have laid a whole bunch of mines alongside their borders with Bangladesh. Panic unfold within the space in August when the Myanmar border safety power, Border Guard Police (BGP), hurled mortar shells on the Tumbru no man’s land space.

Two unexploded mortar shells have been recovered from the spot on August 28. On September 3, Myanmar helicopters intruded to inside 300 to 400 yards of Bangladeshi airspace at Naikhongchhari level a number of instances. Shells and gunshots have been fired from warplanes and helicopters, native individuals reported.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh has already summoned the Myanmar envoy to Dhaka thrice over the difficulty.
