Government allocates Rs 5,100 crore for CM Kisan Nyay Yojna

The Congress government in Chhattisgarh led by Bhupesh Baghel presented the state Budget for the Financial Year 2020-21 today. The Budget session of Chhattisgarh began on February 24 and is slated to continue till April 1. The main focus of the budget is on agriculture, education, businesses, infrastructure, women empowerment, among others.   

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel who also holds the finance portfolio today present his second budget. Before the start of the budget session in Chhattisgarh assembly, Baghel had said that his government will present a ‘people-friendly budget’ and had asked the citizens to provide him with some suggestions.

“We want you to participate in preparation for the budget of the state so that we could meet your aspirations. Please ensure your participation by giving us your suggestions,” Baghel had said in a tweet.

Here are the Highlights from Chhattisgarh Budget 2020:

12:15 pm: Three new indoor stadiums will be set up in the state. With this, 11 new auditoriums will be built. A provision of Rs 7 crore 20 lakh has been made for setting up ATC at three airports Bilaspur, Ambikapur and Jagdalpur in the state. The government will purchase mobile weighing stations at a cost of 9 crores to curb the overloaded trains in the 27 districts of the state.

12:10 pm: A cyber police station will be established in each police range. 1 thousand houses will be built for police personnel in Bastar. A new police transit mess will be set up in Raipur and Durg. A provision of Rs 22 crore 50 lakh has been made for them. With this, 5 new police stations and 10 new posts will be established in the state.

12:07 pm: Tribal Advisory Board will be formed. Rs. 3.5 crore allocated for tourism budget. The scheme has been launched to propose to private investors. Establishment of a cyber police station in every range. Martyr’s memorial will be built in Naya Raipur in memory of the martyrs of Jhiram.

12:05 pm: 9 polytechnic colleges will be upgraded in the state along with a new polytechnic which will be opened in Takhatpur. A provision of Rs 60 crore has been made to end malnutrition and Rs 10 crore for Ram Van Path Gamman Marg Development.

12:02 pm: A provision of Rs 666 crore has been made for the special nutritional food scheme. ITIs will be opened at 5 places including Tilchha. 9742 villages will be connected under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

12:00 pm: 16 thousand teachers will be merged on 1 July 2020. Girls college will be opened in Sukma, Narayanpur, Bijapur and in Dhamtari.

11:58 am: A provision of Rs 30 crore has been made for setting up markets in rural areas. A provision of Rs 200 crore has been made for forest produce and 50 crore has been made for its training.

11:55 am: Provision of Rs 5 crores has been made for organizing Youth Festival. Provision of 20 crores has been made for organic farming. Provision of Rs 10 thousand grants and fodder per month to the Gothan committees.

11:53 am: Rs 237 crores allocated for the Mahanadi project

11:50 am: Provision of Rs 163 crores for Narva-Garwa-Ghurwa-Bari scheme

11:48 am: CM Bhupesh Baghel said that a target has been set to increase the area under irrigation in Chhattisgarh from 13 lakh hectare to 32 lakh hectare. A merger of education workers will be held from July 1, 2020. ITIs will be opened in 5 places including Tilda. A provision of Rs 13 crore has been made for the Haat Bazar Clinic. It has benefited 11 lakh people. 

11:45 am: Rs 25 crore has been allocated for the welfare of Anganwadi centres. Provision of Rs 31 crore in the Mehtari Jatan Scheme. 5 schemes were launched in the health plan. Up to Rs 5 lakh benefits will be given in Dr Khabchand Baghel Health Scheme. 

11:42 am: Under the CM Khel Incentive Scheme, financial assistance will be provided to the players to participate in the Games at national and international levels. A Youth Festival will be held every year, a budget of Rs 5 crore has been given for this. 

11:39 am: Provision of Rs 60 crores for the Chief Minister’s Nutrition Scheme

11:36 am: Rs 13 crores allocated for the healthcare of those coming to the Haat market

11:34 am: Provision of 20 lakhs for malaria-free Bastar and treatment of critical illness.

11:32 am: Establishment of the higher laboratory in State Sikel Cell Institute and Sikel Cell Testing and Counseling Center in districts. Rs 75 crore allocated for Medical Lab.

11:30 am: Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club will be formed. Under this, 75 thousand young people will be prepared, a provision of Rs 50 crores has been made by the CM. 

11:25 am: Efforts are being made to produce vitamin A rice in Kondagaon. The Chief Minister said that the poverty level in the state has decreased. The state’s GDP is expected to rise by more than seven per cent. A provision of Rs 3,410 crore has been made for giving ration cards.
