Twitter is bringing back its popular feature after three years

1 min read

Social media platform Twitter will resume the verification process of its account early next year, under which ‘blue tick’ is given to the account of active and authentic users. Twitter stopped its public verification program three years ago, as it received a response that many found it arbitrary and confusing. However, Twitter continued to give blue ticks to accounts in special cases.

Twitter wrote in a blog post, ‘A year later, on the occasion of the 2020 US election, we took this work forward to maintain honesty in public conversation.’ The microblogging platform is now resuming the process and has asked the public to respond to the draft of its new verification policy from 24 November to 8 December 2020.
