Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi recently launched the successor to its highly popular smartphone from 2019, the K20 in China. Called the K30, the device was announced to bring with it a number of exciting features, and top of the line flagship specs.
And now, the device is all ready to go on sale for the first time on January 7, and ahead of the launch, Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, has shared the first images of the retail box of the device. The box is of the 5G version of the phone, however, except for the particular marking, Xiaomi is expected to use pretty much the same retail packaging for the 4G model of the K30 too.
For the uninitiated, the device was launched in China earlier in December and has been available for pre-orders through Xiaomi Mall and select e-retailers in the company’s home country since then. From what it appears, Xiaomi has tried to keep things simple with the Redmi K30 5G retail box which flaunts a rather minimalist look.
But as we get closer to the date of sale for the Redmi K30 5G, a new listing on TENAA has appeared hinting at how the company could already be working on a special edition of the device with a massive 10GB of RAM on board.
This listing comes after a 12GB variant of the phone had also appeared on TENAA shortly after the launch of the phone. The new TENAA listing shows the Redmi K30 5G with the model number M2001G7AC. While there is no clarity on the matter, it is expected that the 10GB RAM option will likely come with 256GB storage offered alongside.
Currently, The Redmi K30 5G has been announced in four configuration options, with the base variant, starting at 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 20,000) for 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. For the variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, you will have to pay 2,299 Yuan (approximately Rs 23,000). There’s another variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage that will cost 2,599 Yuan (approximately Rs 26,000). The top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage will cost 2,899 Yuan (approximately Rs 29,200).
For the price, the Redmi K30 5G gets a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display with narrow bezels and a cutout for a dual selfie camera on the top. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz. The 5G variant of the phone uses the Snapdragon 765G chip to power the phone. The 5G variant features a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 camera paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera.
