Youth held on rape cost

SAMBALPUR: Police on Saturday arrested a 25-year-old youth for allegedly raping a minor woman at Charmal underneath Rairakhol block within the district. He was recognized as Suresh Mahakud (25) of Patupal village. Police mentioned the incident befell on July 28 when the sufferer was getting back from her school at Birmaharajpur in Sonepur district.  

The woman, a Class 12 scholar, was returning dwelling when it began raining at Charmal. She was ready underneath a tree alongside the highway when the accused approached her. He dragged the sufferer to the close by forest and raped her. Though she got here again dwelling and narrated her ordeal, her household determined to not file a grievance.

However, the woman’s father modified thoughts and lodged an FIR with Charmal police on Saturday. Charmal IIC Basanta Dalai mentioned the sufferer was despatched for medical examination. The accused was booked underneath Sections 376 and 506 of IPC in addition to Section 6 of POCSO Act.
