With seven-degree celsius winter giving Koraput a chill

JEYPORE: With intense chilly waves sweeping totally different areas of the Koraput district, regular life has come to a standstill. While the winter chills have been gripping the tribal area for the previous two days, the temperature on Sunday was significantly low with day temperature recorded at 16 levels in lots of areas. The night time temperature in Koraput, Semiliguda, Nandapur, Lamtaput, Dasmantpur and Laxmipur was recorded at 9 levels celsius.

Meanwhile, some elements of Deomali beneath the Pottangi block of the district recorded beneath 8 levels on Sunday morning. District emergency division sources knowledgeable that Semiliguda block has been recording beneath 7 levels for the final 4 days whereas different tribal areas went beneath 9 levels. “The cold wave condition will last for the next couple of days in Koraput district with both day and night temperatures getting lower,” knowledgeable emergency officer Gayanjit Tripathy.
