Vigilance Arrests Horticulture Overseer On Bribe Charge In Odisha’s Kandhamal – ODISHA BYTES

Bhubaneswar: Vigilance officers on Wednesday arrested a Horticulture Overseer in Kandhamal district on the cost of taking bribe.
According to a launch of Director, Vigilance, Cuttack, Pure Pradhan of Malebadi village below Daringbadi police station had complained that Batakrushna Kata, Horticulture Overseer, Daringbadi had demanded Rs 10,000 as bribe to course of wage record for launch of labour cost below MGNREG scheme.
Following the criticism, the officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division laid a entice and nabbed Kata red-handed in his workplace room whereas accepting the bribe. The cash was recovered from his possession and seized in presence of witnesses. Kata was arrested and forwarded to courtroom.
Rented home of Kata at Kalinga in Kandhamal district and workplace room at Daringbadi had been being searched.
Vigilance has registered a case and additional investigation is underway.
