IDUKKI: A 52-year-old man, who ran a bakery close to Idukki district’s Adimali, died by suicide on Monday as a result of monetary burden incurred as a result of COVID lockdown. G Vinod, who was operating the bakery in Irumbupalam close to Adimaly, was discovered hanging inside his store on Monday morning, police mentioned.

Two weeks again, a 40-year-old man had died by suicide in Idukki’s Pampadumpara village as a result of monetary burden incurred as a result of lockdown.

Vinod’s relations have given an announcement to the police that he was confused on account of monetary liabilities incurred throughout the lockdown, which is likely to be the explanation for him taking such an excessive step. Vinod had borrowed cash from a monetary establishment for enterprise functions. However, the COVID outbreak and the resultant lockdown had put a pressure on his bills and he was unable to return the cash.

On Monday morning, Vinod went to open the store as regular. He was discovered hanging contained in the store by a person who went to produce milk there. Adimali police have reached the spot and the probe is on.
