Three jumbos die in Odisha’s Keonjhar after being hit by practice whereas crossing observe

BHUBANESWAR: In a tragic incident, three elephants, which had been hit by a practice close to Joda on Thursday night, succumbed to their accidents on Friday morning.

A forest group led by RCCF Rourkela Arun Kumar Mishra reached the mishap spot for investigation.

Keonjhar DFO Dhamdhere Dhanraj Hanumant stated the mishap occurred close to Banspani Behera Hatting, round 70 km from Keonjhar.

According to forest officers, a herd of twenty-two elephants was crossing the railway observe when a items practice carrying iron ore hit the jumbos.

A feminine elephant and two calves sustained grievous accidents within the incident and died early on Friday.

Following the mishap, the elephant herd turned aggressive stopping forest personnel from finishing up any rescue operation. The herd which had been seen guarding the injured jumbos, later went contained in the forests.

Though a veterinary group reached the spot, forest officers stated a postmortem would not be required as the reason for dying was recognized. The elephants might be buried in presence of the RCCF and DFO.

Meanwhile, sources stated the PCCF Wildlife headquarters has sought an in depth report from the RCCF and DFO concerning the incident for crucial motion.

Locals blamed forest officers for the mishap claiming that satisfactory precautionary measures weren’t taken although the elephant herd was tenting within the close by forests for the final one week.

The elephants had been ceaselessly shifting within the hall as a result of widespread deforestation and mining actions in Keonjhar area.
