Sabarimala temple to open for Meenam pooja in Kerala

SABARIMALA:  The hill shrine at Sabarimala shall be opened on Tuesday for the five-day month-to-month pooja for the Malayalam month of Meenam. Melsanthi Jayaraman Nampoothiri will open the sreekovil at 5pm within the presence of thantri Kandararu Rajivaru. 

Special poojas, together with kalabhabhishekam, udayasthamana pooja, ashtabhishekam, padi pooja, pushpabhishekam and sahasrakalasam shall be carried out through the 5 days, mentioned Sabarimala devaswom govt officer Krishnakumar.

On the primary day of the pooja (March 15), kalabhabhishekam would be the particular pooja to be carried out on the temple. As a part of the ritual, the thantri will carry out brahmakalasa pooja on the mandapam at 9am within the presence of the melsanthi.

The ritual will conclude with kalabhabhishekam on the idol throughout uchcha pooja after the procession carrying the brahmakalasam led by the thantri circumambulating the sreekovil. Udayasthamana pooja, ashtabhishekam, padi pooja and pushpabhishekam would be the different rituals to be carried out on the temple.

Sahasrakalasam shall be carried out on the concluding day of the pooja. In reference to the ritual, the thantri will carry out kalasa pooja on the mandapam on the south of the sreekovil at 5pm on March 18. 
The temple shall be closed on March 19, marking the conclusion of the five-day month-to-month pooja.
