Rs 110 cr ROPAX Jetty Project to return up in Odisha below Sagarmala initiative

New Delhi, April 16 (IANS) The Union Ports, Shipping & Waterways Ministry has accorded approval for sanction of Rs 50.30 crore to develop an all-weather ROPAX (Roll-on/Roll-off Passenger) Jetty and allied infrastructure in Odisha, connecting Kaninali in Bhadrak district with Talachua in Kendrapara, below the Sagarmala initiative.
The whole capital price of the mission is Rs 110.60 crore which incorporates building of RO-PAX Jetty at Kaninali and Talachua, utility infrastructures comparable to parking space growth, navigational aids and dredging.
The Odisha authorities will fund the remaining price.
This mission will cut back journey time for passengers from 6 hours by street to an hour by waterway.
