Opposition strikes decision towards Kerala Assembly Speaker over affiliation in gold smuggling case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a uncommon occasion, a decision moved by the oppositon UDF, searching for the removing of Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan, has been taken up for dialogue within the Kerala meeting on Thursday.

Indian Union Muslim League’s Manjeri MLA, M Ummer launched the decision. As many as 20 MLAs together with BJP’s O Rajagopal supported it.  

Deputy Speaker who chaired the proceedings stated the decision was allowed with out going into the technicalities.

P Sreeramakrishnan sat within the chair of deputy Speaker together with different members throughout the dialogue.

The decision alleged that the speaker introduced disrespect to the home and the chair by associating with the accused within the gold smuggling case and that the Speaker’s identify was being linked to the reverse hawala case, through which US greenback was smuggled out of the county in massive portions by way of diplomatic and different channels.

CPM chief S Sarma got here out towards the decision terming it a politically motivated one. 

Earlier the Speaker had stated that he allowed decision towards him to offer alternative for opposition to lift their protests in meeting.

Sreeramakrishnan would be the third Speaker in Kerala meeting to face a decision searching for dismissal from workplace.
