Odisha registers 79 per cent voter turnout in fourth section of rural polls

BHUBANESHWAR: The fourth section of the panchayat election in Odisha registered 79 per cent voter turnout, the State Election Commission (SEC) stated on Wednesday.

The SEC stated that the very best voter turnout was recorded at 86.57 per cent in Subarnapur district whereas Ganjam logged the bottom of 65.21 throughout the fourth section of the agricultural polls which was held throughout 27 districts of the state on Tuesday.

The SEC stated that the polling proportion within the 4 phases of polling remained above 70 per cent.

While it was 79 per cent within the 4th section, 78.6% within the third section, 78.3% within the second phases and 77.2% within the first section of polling.

Meanwhile, the SEC performed re-polls in at the very least 45 cubicles the place voting was disrupted throughout the first and second section of polling on February 16 and February 18.

While re-poll is being held in 25 cubicles of the primary section, one other 20 cubicles had reported disruption throughout the second section of polling.

Jajpur district witnessed the very best re-polling in 22 cubicles.

Other districts have been: Bhadrak (6), Puri (5), Dhenkanal (4), Mayrurbhanj and Jagatsinghpur (3 every) and one every sales space within the districts of Bodh, Bolangir and Keonjhar.
