Odisha Police Collected Over 5 Crore Fine In A Month From Covid Norms Violators

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police has collected penalty of greater than Rs 5 crore from individuals for violating masks and social distancing guidelines enforced to stem the unfold of Covid-19.
In a media briefing, Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay stated, a complete of 5, 66, 65,000 effective have been collected for masks rule and social distancing violation within the month of April alone. The police have prosecuted 1.5 lakh individuals for the offence.
The high cop stated a complete of 350 enterprise institutions and different institutes have been sealed for defying the Covid protocols. Similarly, 418 individuals had been arrested for breaking the principles whereas over 18,000 automobiles had been seized through the interval. Over Rs 7 crore was collected the house owners of the automobiles. Moreover, over 1300 excise circumstances registered this month.
“Majority of people are following the Covid guidelines. However, a substantial number of people are not obeying the Covid norms. I appeal them to obey the guidelines implemented by the government like night curfew and weekend shutdown,” he stated.
“I urge people to follow appropriate Covid protocols. We have become harsh for the safety of people, state and country,” DGP added.
Stating that Covid an infection is not going to unfold if all put on marks, the DGP urged all to cowl face and preserve social distancing.
“Police are meant to check major crimesand nab criminals involved. We feel happy for the professional work. Detaining people for not wearing masks, making crowd, violating shutdown and lockdown curfew do not give us professional satisfaction. Rather it gives us pain,” he added.
