Odisha man given two doses of Covid vaccine in half-hour period

BARIPADA: A 51-year-old man in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district was administrated two doses of COVID-19 vaccine inside solely half-hour, official sources stated.

The man recognized as Prasanna Kumar Sahu of Raghupur village had visited the momentary vaccination camp on the Satyasai Government High School at Khuntapur for the primary dose after reserving a slot on Saturday.

After taking the primary dose, he was beneath statement for half-hour throughout which a nurse erroneously administered one other dose of the vaccine to him, Sahu stated.

“I raised the alarm, but by that time, the nurse had already administered the vaccine,” Sahu stated.

He was requested to endure statement for 2 extra hours and was given ORS drink, centre observer Rajendra Behera stated, including that the person was sitting on the vaccination place as an alternative of going to the statement room.

“It was by mistake he was administered the second dose,” Behera stated.

Betanati Community Health Centre in-charge, Dr Sipun Panda stated that he was conscious concerning the grievance and an inquiry committee will take up the matter earlier than taking any motion towards the individual accountable.

Dr Panda stated there was no such antagonistic response in Sahu’s physique.
