Odisha man arrested for marrying 4 occasions with out being divorced

CUTTACK:  Police on Friday arrested a 45-year-old artwork trainer from Salepur for allegedly marrying 4 ladies. The arrest was made following complaints lodged by his first and third spouse lately. 

The trainer, Krushna Chandra Naik, of 42 Mauza locality was reportedly posted at Gopinathpur Model High School in Salepur block. Police nabbed him whereas he was along with his fourth spouse.

As per the criticism, Krushna had first tied the knot with a girl from Rausapatna space beneath Purighat police limits in 2001.

Later, he married two ladies in 2008 and 2016. During the Covid-19 lockdown, Krushna had married one other lady.  His first spouse Shilpika Das alleged that, “I had married Krushna in 2001 at a temple and it was an arranged one. After marriage, he started demanding money from my family on the pretext of pursuing his studies and other needs.” 

While Krushna began residing individually for pursing greater schooling and by no means sorted her, she then lodged a criticism with police in 2004.

Das, nonetheless, determined to withdraw the case after her in-laws assured to take care of her. But when she got here to know that Krushna has married three extra ladies, she lodged one other criticism with Mahila police in January, 2021.

Similarly, his third spouse Swarnalata Jena has alleged that she had married Krushna in 2016 and continued to reside with him for 2/three years.

“He used to go to residence sometimes. In March 2020, I got here throughout his photograph with one other lady in his cell phone following which I knowledgeable my household about it. Later, I lodged a criticism in opposition to Krushna with Sadar police.

However, police didn’t provoke any step in opposition to him within the plea of prevailing pandemic scenario,” stated Jena. 

“Acting on the compliant, we conducted an investigation into the matter and basing on the prima facie evidence, the accused teacher has been arrested and forwarded to court,” stated IIC of Cuttack Mahila police station Anusuya Nayak.
