Odisha makes 100% exemption on taxes for electrical autos

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha authorities has made 100 per cent exemption on motorized vehicle (MV) taxes and registration charges on electrical autos in accordance with the Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy, 2021.
The State Transport division issued a notification on this regard on Saturday.
“The state government in exercise of the powers conferred under the Odisha Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1975, do hereby allow 100 per cent exemption of motor vehicles taxes and also registration fees in respect of all types of battery operated vehicles (electric vehicles) during the policy period, i.e. up to December 31, 2025,” learn the notification.
On the recommendation of NITI Aayog, the Odisha authorities has give you the Electric Vehicle Policy, 2021 in September this 12 months with a purpose to encourage sooner adoption of electrical autos within the State.
Under the coverage, the federal government has proposed to increase monetary incentives for manufacturing industries, consumers, scrapping together with curiosity subvention in loans, waiving of street tax & registration charges through the coverage interval (5 years). It has additionally determined to present incentives underneath the Startup Policy.
As per the coverage, the state will present 15 per cent subsidy, a most of Rs 5,000 for 2 wheelers, Rs 10,000 for three-wheelers, and Rs 50,000 for four-wheelers on the bottom value.
