Odisha logs 242 new COVID-19 instances, 3 fatalities

BHUBANESHWAR: Odisha on Friday logged 242 extra COVID-19 instances, 45 of them youngsters and adolescents, taking the state’s tally to 10,46,559, whereas three recent fatalities pushed the toll to eight,389, a well being division official stated.

The fee of an infection amongst youngsters and adolescents stood at 18.59 per cent, up from 12.66 per cent the day before today.

Of the 242 new instances, reported from 19 of 30 districts, 141 had been detected in quarantine centres and the remaining throughout contact tracing.

Khurda district, of which state capital Bhubaneswar is part, reported 120 new COVID-19 instances, adopted by Mayurbhanj at 24 and Cuttack at 18. Two recent fatalities had been recorded in Bhubaneswar and one in Ganjam district. The state has reported 6,504 deaths in the course of the second wave as towards 1,876 within the first.
