Odisha: IIC of Bangomunda Police Station in Vigilance internet

Bhubaneswar: Tightening the noose round corrupt authorities officers the Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday intercepted the IIC of Bangomunda Police Station in Balangir district close to Bargarh Toll Gate, whereas he was plying from Bangomunda in the direction of Kuchinda.
The police personnel has been recognized as Binod Bihari Nayak.
As per experiences, on receipt of dependable data relating to assortment of big money by Binod Bihari Nayak, Inspector-in-charge, Bangomunda Police Station, Dist: Bolangir as unlawful gratification from completely different sources, a crew of Odisha Vigilance stored an in depth watch over his motion and actions.
Accordingly, at present the crew of Odisha Vigilance intercepted him within the night close to Bargarh Toll Gate, whereas he was plying from Bangomunda in the direction of Kuchinda on a Maruti Ciaz automobile bearing registration No.OD-15-K6111.
During interception, a sum of Rs.2,06,220/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Six Thousand Two Hundred Twenty) was recovered from Nayak, IIC, which he couldn’t account for satisfactorily.
The money in addition to different paperwork together with Maruti Ciaz automobile have been seized.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No.42 dated 30.11.2021 has been registered U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 in opposition to Binod Bihari Nayak, Inspector-in-charge, Bangomunda Police Station, Dist-Bolangir. Following interception, workplace room of Nayak, Govt. quarter at Bangomunda PS, residential home at Kuchinda, Dist-Sambalpur and home at native village Chirabanikudar, PS-Riamal, Dist-Deogarh are being searched.
The investigation of the case is in progress.
In one other case the Vigilance sleuths arrested one other cop within the State. As per experiences, the Constable of Rusuda Outpost, Bheden Police Station in Bargarh district was arrested whereas accepting Rs.7,000/- bribe.
In yet another Vigilance Operation at present, Ranjan Pradhan, Constable No.98, Bantala Police Station, Dist-Sambalpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue benefit (bribe) of Rs.7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand) from a complainant as a way to favour him in a civil dispute matter.
Being threatened with arrest by the Constable, the complainant contacted the Toll Free No.1064 of Odisha Vigilance. Following due verification, a lure was laid on 30.11.2021 whereby the accused Ranjan Pradhan, Constable was caught by the crew of Odisha Vigilance at Bhatupali chowk beneath Rusuda Phandi, Dist-Bargarh, whereas demanding and accepting undue benefit (bribe) of Rs.7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand) from the complainant.
The bribe cash was recovered from the possession of Pradhan and seized in presence of witnesses. Both arms wash of Pradhan in addition to pant pocket wash gave constructive chemical response, confirming acceptance and dealing with of bribe cash by him.
Following the lure, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential home of Pradhan at Janaha Pada, PS-Attabira, Dist-Bargarh and Rusuda Out-post, Dist-Bargarh. He has been arrested and will likely be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.41 dated 30.11.2021 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is beneath investigation.
In the case of the Constable of Berhampur Police district he was arrested by Vigilance for disproportionate property (DA) value Rs 1,69,68,920/-.
On the allegation of possession of property disproportionate to the identified sources of earnings by Sudarsan Pradhan, Constable No.742, Berhampur Police District, posted at Bijipur TOP beneath Berhampur Town PS, simultaneous home searches have been carried out at 3 locations in Ganjam district on 29.11.2021 by 3 groups of Odisha Vigilance led by 1 Addl. SP, 2 DSsP, 5 Inspectors and different workers on the energy of Search Warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.
1 triple storeyed constructing at Lochapada, Berhampur, 3 nos of newly constructed buildings at Nimakhandi, Berhampur, 9 plots at Lochapada, Nimakhandi and Tumbagada in Ganjam district, 2 nos of two wheelers, money of Rs.5,16,880/- and different movable and immovable properties, all totalling to over Rs 2.16 Crore have been unearthed throughout the home search.
After thorough search, stock and additional enquiry, the earnings, expenditure and property of Sudarsan Pradhan have been calculated and he was present in possession of property disproportionate to the identified sources of earnings to the tune of Rs.1,69,68,920/- (Rupees One Crore Sixty-nine Lakh Sixty-eight Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty) which constituted 174% of his identified sources of earnings.
As Pradhan was present in possession of disproportionate property, which he couldn’t account for satisfactorily, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.18 dt.30.11.2021 was registered in opposition to him and his partner U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act2018.
In course of investigation, at present Pradhan has been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur. The Court has remanded him to jail custody until 13.12.2021. Investigation of the case is in progress.
