BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha authorities on Thursday dominated out the opportunity of a significant flood within the Mahanadi river system even because the water degree of the Hirakud dam continued to extend throughout the day

Dhirendra Samal, the engineer-in-chief on the Water Resources Department advised the media individuals that 6.6 lakh to 7 cusecs water is passing via the Mundali barrage. He additional stated that by the point the surplus floodwater launched from Hirakud dam reaches Mundali, the native drainage of water would have taken place. The water degree of Hirakud reservoir was 628.65 ft by 12 midday with an influx of 5.20 lakh cusec and an outflow of 4.8 lakh cusec water. However, as there is no such thing as a chance of any heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh on the higher catchment space of the Hirakud dam, the water degree is predicted to stabilise.

Meanwhile, the water ranges of Mahanadi, Devi and Bramhani have began falling whereas these of Khushabhadra, Budhabalanda and Subarnarekha continued to rise. But the water degree of Jalaka river has remained regular.

However, to cope with the rising state of affairs, 4 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) groups have been deployed within the State on Thursday to hold out the required rescue and aid operations in case of a attainable flood.

The groups, having 25 members every, have been allotted from Mundali centre following a request by the state authorities.
