Odisha govt forces 4 officers into obligatory retirement over corruption, dereliction of responsibility

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha authorities on Tuesday compelled 4 officers into obligatory retirement on the grounds of corruption and dereliction of responsibility.

According to official sources, the officers embrace two OAS officers, one district sub-registrar and a former chief district veterinary officer. One of the officers, deputy collector of Angul Janakinath Mishra, has been requested to go on obligatory retirement as he has two corruption instances and 9 proceedings in opposition to him.

Tahasildar of Nuagarh in Gajapati district Akul Mallik has one corruption case and two departmental proceedings in opposition to him. Official sources mentioned that he has fees of embezzlement of presidency fund in opposition to him.

Similarly, sub-registrar of Dhenkanal district Lalatendu Satpathy has two corruption instances and two departmental instances pending in opposition to him. Former chief district veterinary officer of Nuapada, Trilochan Dhal has been given obligatory retirement as a corruption case is pending in opposition to him. Official sources mentioned an enormous sum of money disproportionate to his recognized sources of earnings was discovered with him throughout raids.

So far, the state authorities has requested 122 of its officers to go on obligatory retirement.
