Odisha debt burden to succeed in Rs 122917 crore by finish of 2021-22 monetary 12 months

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha’s debt burden will attain Rs 122917.25 crore by the top of the 2021-22 monetary 12 months, finance minister Niranjan Pujari knowledgeable the state meeting on Monday. The per capita debt burden has greater than doubled over the past ten years, he added.

Replying to a query from Soumya Ranjan Patnaik (BJD), the minister stated that in response to preliminary estimates of the Auditor General, Odisha, the debt burden has touched Rs 104312.12 crore by the top of July within the 2020-21 monetary 12 months which is 17.8 p.c of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP).

The minister stated that the per capita debt burden of the state had reached Rs 23761.83 by the top of the 2020-21 monetary 12 months in comparison with Rs 9144.40 by the top of 2011-12.
