Odisha: After Kotia, Andhra Now Constructs Road In Rayagada | OTV News

Bhubaneswar: Even although the border dispute in Kotia of Koraput district is essentially seen as a product of administrative negligence, the Odisha authorities doesn’t appear to have learnt from its errors.
The State authorities is but to succeed in out to the bordering villages and deal with problems with the locals prompting Andhra Pradesh to take extra villages underneath its administrative management.
According to sources, after Koraput and Gajapati, Andhra is now attempting to take some bordering villages of Rayagada district underneath its administrative management.The neighbouring state is allegedly attempting to lure the residents of Palamtulsi village of Rayagada via numerous means.
Though summer season is but to return, the residents of Palamtulsi have already began reeling underneath acute scarcity of ingesting water. Carrying pots on their heads, the ladies of the village are compelled to stroll miles to fetch water. Not solely ingesting water, the residents are reportedly disadvantaged of highway communication, schooling, well being, tele-communication and different primary facilities.

“There is scarcity of drinking water in our village. During rainy season, we drink rain water by trekking more than one kilometre. We do not have access to safe drinking water,” stated Rani Kalaka, a lady of Palamtulsi.
Unlike Palamtulsi residents, these residing on Andhra aspect are approach forward. They have higher facilities and avail authorities advantages like ration, pension way more than the residents of Odisha villages.
The large disparities within the authorities advantages have reportedly lead many villagers to maneuver to different aspect of border and undertake Andhra citizenship.
“Residents in border area of Odisha do not get basic facilities from the government. The administration turns blind eyes on the problems of the residents. Therefore, I moved to Andhra Pradesh to get better facilities,” stated Siri Puala who’s now settled in Andhra aspect of the border.
Taking benefit of the executive apathy within the bordering villages of Odisha, the Andhra authorities has reportedly began setting up highway and bridges within the border areas to draw the residents.
The Andhra authorities put up poles with the intention to assemble highway at Palamtulsi village connecting it with two of its villages- Kitilang and Jiranga.
However, the transfer confronted stiff resistance from residents of Palamtulsi. While they vowed to not let Andhra enter the Odisha territory, the State authorities appears least bothered and has not reached out to handle numerous problems with the residents.

Raju Pual of Palamtulsi village stated, “The officials of Andhra government had demarcated the area and erected poles for road construction. However, we have decided not to let Andhra enter our territory and removed the poles.”
Speaking on the difficulty, Rayagada sub-collector Pratap Chandra Pradhan stated, “We have advised the villagers not to panic. We are vigilant on the issue and if the villagers inform us about such activities, we will take action immediately and stop such works.”
