KOCHI: The Kerala authorities on Sunday determined to terminate the service of a nurse engaged on a contract foundation at a taluk hospital in Angamally close to Ernakulam for allegedly wrongly administering a rabies vaccine to a feverish baby.

The incident happened on August 11 when the seven-year-old baby was sitting in entrance of the laboratory awaiting a blood check.

The state Health Department, which had ordered a probe, determined at this time to terminate the providers of the nurse who was engaged on contract on the hospital.

Police mentioned the kid was ready alone in entrance of the laboratory whereas the dad and mom went to finish some procedural formalities together with paying the payments.

“It seems like the nurse mistook her for another child waiting for an anti-rabies vaccine and gave her the jab,” police mentioned.

However, the dad and mom have determined to not file a police criticism on this regard.

“We took the statement of the parents. They have consulted the doctors and since there were no side effects from receiving the rabies vaccine, they have decided not to file a complaint,” police mentioned.

The baby was saved below remark and her well being is now secure, police added.
