No authorized hurdles for judicial probe towards central businesses, says Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan

KOCHI: Alleging that the Opposition events have facilitated the hampering of improvement initiatives in Kerala by central investigation businesses, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated there aren’t any authorized hurdles for a judicial probe towards the businesses.

“There was a complaint that certain officers of the central agency pressurised the accused more than once to give a wrong statement. The judicial investigation is not against central agencies. There were some moves against the federal structure and Constitutional provisions. As it posed some serious legal issues, the government decided to conduct a judicial probe. The government had sought legal opinion before ordering the probe,” he informed mediapersons in Kochi on Saturday.

Pinarayi stated the KIIFB has given an impetus to Kerala’s improvement and the Opposition was supporting the Centre’s transfer to hamper progress. A staff of officers went to the KIIFB and questioned the officers until midnight, he stated, including that the central businesses are intruding into the jurisdiction of the state.

Repeating his cost of a Congress-UDF- BJP settlement to defeat the LDF, Pinarayi stated the Opposition has resolved to oppose initiatives like KIIFB which can be helpful to the state and the general public. He demanded an apology from the Opposition chief for his letter to the Election Commission demanding a halt to the distribution of meals kits, welfare pension and meals grains until the elections are over.

“He is humiliating the people by alleging that the voters can be influenced by distributing food kits. The people will be casting their votes considering the functioning of the government during the past five years,” stated Pinarayi.

Rejecting the Opposition chief’s demand for a judicial probe into the deep sea fishing deal between the federal government and American agency EMCC, he stated the extra chief secretary of the water assets division is conducting an inquiry into the incident. “Any further action can be taken after receiving the inquiry report,” he stated.

Responding to the allegations of a number of entries within the voters’ record, Pinarayi stated it’s the UDF that resorts to such actions. The Election Commission ought to conduct a probe into the allegation. He stated UDF MLAs, candidates and relations together with the Opposition chief’s mom have gotten a number of votes in numerous constituencies.
