Newly-wed lady discovered lifeless along with her throat slit

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 24-year-old newly married lady was discovered lifeless along with her throat reduce within the toilet of her husband’s residence at Kallambalam right here on Friday. The deceased is Athira of Sunitha Bhavan, Muthana, Kallambalam. The police, who suspect it to be a case of suicide, have launched a probe after Athira’s family members raised suspicion.

According to Kallambalam police, Athira’s husband Sarath discovered her lifeless within the toilet round 11.45am. Their marriage had taken place solely one-and-half-months in the past. Around 8am on Friday, Sarath went to a hospital in Kollam alongside along with his father. When Athira’s mom got here residence to satisfy her at 10am, she couldn’t see anybody in the home. So she waited for Sarath to return. On returning, Sarath began trying to find Athira and located the toilet locked from inside.

‘Prima facie, it’s a case of suicide’

Sarath broke its door open and located Athira mendacity in a pool of blood and lifeless. The police stated they have been alerted by Sarath. The canine squad and fingerprint consultants examined the crime spot and picked up samples. The physique was shifted to the medical school hospital’s morgue. The postmortem examination shall be held on Saturday.

“Prima facie, it’s a case of suicide. We found cut marks on the veins of both her hands. Besides, the door of the bathroom was locked from inside. Moreover, there were no family issues between Athira and Sarath,” stated Kallambalam Inspector of Police I Faroz.
