Man who ‘misbehaved’ with girl dies after being assaulted by mob in Kerala

KASARAGOD: A 48-year-old man died after being assaulted by a mob in Kasaragod city on Saturday, stated police. He was recognized as Muhammed Rafeeq, a local of Chemnad and resident of Deli.

The incident occurred close to KIMS hospital and Aramana Hospital round 2.30 pm, stated the city police.

The city police sub-inspector stated Rafeeq allegedly misbehaved with a lady close to the hospital and he or she raised an alarm.

Rafeeq ran from the place in the direction of the bus stand however was chased by a gaggle of males, together with the autorickshaw drivers, he stated.

The officer stated he checked the footage from one surveillance digital camera on the web site and noticed the boys chasing Rafeeq and bringing him again to the hospital round 1.20 pm. “There were a lot of men but only two were holding him and hitting him on his back while bringing him back,” stated the officer.

Soon, Rafeeq began shivering and frothing on the mouth and collapsed, he stated. “It was all over in four minutes,” the officer stated.

Rafeeq was taken to the hospital which declared him introduced useless. “The doctor at the hospital suspect he suffered a massive heart attack,” stated the officer.

Rafeeq’s physique has been despatched for postmortem at Kannur Government Medical College at Pariyaram.

Kasaragod DySP P Balakrishnan Nair and his group reached the spot and have begun an investigation.
