Lalithakala Akademi awards launched

KOCHI: Kerala Lalithakala Akademi on Wednesday launched the 51st state seen arts awards for the yr 2022, with Ameen Khaleel and Prakashan Ok S profitable the prizes for the perfect painting and drawing, respectively. 

Ameen acquired the award for the painting ‘Balancing on unreal surface’ (Illogical theatre assortment) whereas Prakashan clinched the prize for his drawing ‘To recover something previously lost’.

The awardees have been chosen by a jury comprising seven consultants led by artists Surendran Nair and R M Palaniyappan.

The awards have been declared by the chairperson and secretary of Lalithakala Akademi, Murali Cheeroth and N Balamuralikrishnan, in Kochi. 

In addition to these courses, 5 honourable level out awards, 4 explicit level out awards for art work faculty college students, 4 explicit jury awards, V Shankaramenon Endowment Gold Medal, Vijayaraghavan Endowment Gold Medal and Rajan M Krishnan Award have been moreover declared. 

The awards will be given away on May 29. Minister for Cultural Affairs, Saji Cherian and Minister for Law and Industries, P Rajeeve, will attend the event to be held on the Durbar Hall. “A one-month-long art exhibition will also be inaugurated as part of the event,” acknowledged Murali Cheeroth.
