Kerala teen’s dying a cold-blooded homicide, say cops; hunt begins for relative who mowed boy down

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have formally introduced that the dying of a 15-year-old boy at Poovachal close to Kattakada on August 30, which was initially regarded as a highway accident, was homicide. 

Adishekhar, a Class X pupil, was killed after being mowed down by an electrical automobile pushed by his distant relative Priyaranjan. The preliminary evaluation was that it was a case of negligent driving.

However, CCTV visuals revealed the boy was intentionally mowed down by Priyaranjan.

On the premise of this proof, the police have now confirmed that it was a case of cold-blooded homicide.

Kattakada DySP N Shibu instructed the media that the relations of the deceased teen had expressed doubts over the dying.

“There is a witness account of Priyaranjan being told not to urinate near a temple in the locality by the boy. It was in vengeance that he ran over the boy. The subsequent phone calls he made and the act of going absconding further cemented our doubts. Now we have booked a case of murder against Priyaranjan, ” the DySP mentioned.

Adishekhar was driving a bicycle along with his pal in entrance of his home when he was killed. CCTV visuals present the accused in his automobile rushing in direction of the boy as he mounts his bicycle. The driver of the automobile then rams into the boy on the bicycle and runs over him.

The teenager was introduced useless to the hospital.

One of the kin of the boy mentioned that Priyaranjan had parked his automobile throughout the highway to pose a hurdle in taking the boy to the hospital. Later, Priyaranjan moved his automobile from the spot and discarded it close to Peyad.

Priyaranjan works in a Gulf nation and was visiting Kerala to have a good time the Onam pageant.

The DySP mentioned they’ve began a manhunt for the accused Priyaranjan and are checking whether or not he had any felony antecedents. 

“We have found that he has no criminal cases against him in our sub-division limit. Whether he has any cases in other limits, we are checking,” he added.
