Justice Devan Ramachandran mentioned the petitioners needn’t have any apprehensions concerning the mission as no new notification for SIA has been issued after the expiry of the final one and the detailed mission report (DPR), in addition to the land acquisition, has not been authorized by the Centre.

Therefore, no orders are required to be handed within the petitions within the current scenario, the courtroom mentioned.

It additional mentioned that if there are any new developments in reference to the mission, then the petitioners have the freedom to revive their pleas. With these observations, the courtroom closed the petitions.

The Kerala authorities’s formidable Silverline mission, which is anticipated to scale back journey time from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod to round 4 hours, is being opposed by the opposition Congress-led UDF, which has been alleging that it was “unscientific and impractical” and can put an enormous monetary burden on the state.

The 530 kilometre stretch from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod can be developed by Ok-Rail, a three way partnership of the Kerala authorities and the Railway Ministry, for creating railway infrastructure within the southern state.

Starting from the state capital, SilverLine trains may have stoppages at Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Tirur, Kozhikode and Kannur earlier than reaching Kasaragod.
