Kerala culls 20k birds after Avian flu reported in Alapuzha district

Alapuzha, October 28: With the outbreak of avian influenza being confirmed in Kerala’s Alappuzha district, authorities on Thursday started operations to cull 16,000 birds in Haripad municipality to examine the unfold of the illness.

According to a press release issued by Alapuzha district collector Krishna Teja, the deaths of 1,500 geese have been reported within the ninth ward of Harippad Municipality within the final one week.
