Kerala Budget: God’s Own Country label will get Rs 100 crore shine

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The tourism trade hailed the price range allocation of Rs 100 crore for advertising and marketing God’s Own Country. Further, the announcement of building the Kerala Tourism Workers Welfare Fund Board has additionally introduced cheers to the sector.  

Welcoming the price range, E M Najeeb, president, Confederation Kerala Tourism Industry  stated the Rs 100-crore price range allocation for advertising and marketing is considerable. Additional Rs 25 crore for this 12 months for advertising and marketing is superb for energising tourism, particularly home tourism.

“The welfare board for tourism employees is a good initiative,” he stated.  Kerala Homestay and Tourism Society director M P Sivadathan stated, “The welfare board for tourism employees is one of the long-pending demands. Further, we need an aggressive campaign to market Kerala on international and national tourism platforms to revitalise its sagging fortunes for which the budget has set aside `100 crore which is praiseworthy,” he stated.
