Baba Dham temple opens for devotees from other States

A large number of devotees turned up at Baba Baidyanath dham temple, Deoghar in the beginning of this week to pay obeisance and do Jalabhishek as the doors of the famous temple were opened for devotees from all over the country.
Earlier, the temple doors were opened for devotees of only Jharkhand, but, the district administration lifted restrictions for devotees of other states too.
Moreover, the district administration also lifted the restrictions on the number of devotees entering the ancient abode of Lord Shiva. Earlier, there were restrictions on entry of only 1000 devotees, but from Monday onwards around 1500 devotees in a day can make entry through e- pass.
Deoghar, DC Kamleshwar Prasad Singh said, “The doors of Baba Baidyanath dham temple Deoghar were opened for devotees from other states too. Entry of devotees will be made maintaining the social distance norms.”
However, as per Deoghar district administration directives entry of children, sick and elderly people above the age of 65 years will be restricted.
Earlier, as per Supreme Court directives, the Deoghar district administration on last Monday of Shravan month (August 3), opened the doors of Baba Baidyanath dham for devotees. Later, on August 27 the temple’s doors were opened for devotees.
The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for entry of devotees. Pilgrims will have to collect their e- passes for entry. The e-passes will be issued to ensure safety amid the coronavirus pandemic. Also, only 125 devotees can offer prayers per hour adhering to the protocols of safety and social distancing. For devotees entering from other states, they have to follow all the Covid 19 guidelines. Devotees not following Covid guidelines will
have to undergo 14 days quarantine.
Devotees have been asked to wear masks, keep sanitizers and follow social distancing norms.
Nestled in Deoghar in the Santhal Pargana, Baba Baidyanath dham is one of 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple complex has one main temple of Baba Baidyanath, along with 21 other temples. The Jyotirlinga is in the main temple.
