IG to probe if POCSO cost was foisted on Kadakkavoor lady

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have ordered a high-level probe into the allegation {that a} Kadakkavoor native lady was arrested beneath fabricated Pocso expenses. CWC Chairperson N Sunanda on Sunday mentioned the committee had not despatched any such report back to the police indicting the girl and it had solely offered counselling for the boy.

Reacting to the developments, the Women’s Commission mentioned if the allegations raised by the girl’s relations are true, it’s a grave concern. “If it turns out that the man had prompted the child to give a false statement, then he is liable to be booked under Section 22 of the Pocso Act,” mentioned fee member Shahida Kamal.

She mentioned there was cases of youngsters getting used as a pawn within the home tussle between {couples} and that’s by no means acceptable. “In such a scenario, the children are the ultimate victims. The  kids who are forced to give false statements of abuse would suffer mental agony that will linger on,” she mentioned.
