HC stays govt’s transfer to regularise 1,850 workers in Kerala Bank

KOCHI: The High Court on Monday stayed the state authorities’s transfer to regularise 1,850 workers engaged on contract or non permanent foundation within the Kerala State Cooperative Bank (Kerala Bank).The order was issued on a petition filed by Kottayam native P R Haridas, 30, who was included within the rank listing ready for direct recruitment to the submit of clerk/cashier within the erstwhile Kottayam District Cooperative Bank. 

He sought a directive to the federal government to fill all these vacancies in Kerala Bank which might be set aside for direct recruitment via the Public Service Commission as stipulated in Rule 80 (3A) of the Kerala Cooperative Societies Act.  He alleged the authorities have been making an attempt to illegally regularise non permanent/contract workers in numerous vacancies, together with clerical submit, within the financial institution.
