JAJPUR: A minor woman suffered important accidents after leaping off the roof of a college constructing in Odisha’s Jajpur district in a bid to flee rape try by 5 males, police mentioned on Monday.
The 5 accused, who had earlier suggested her and her brother to take shelter within the college because it was raining closely, have been detained.
The woman has been admitted to a hospital in Kalinga Nagar in a severe situation.
Police mentioned the incident befell on Sunday evening when the woman, a resident of Keonjhar district, alongside along with her brother was on her technique to her sister’s place in Sukinda Chromite valley.
When they alighted from a bus, there was heavy rain within the space and a bunch of males urged that they keep the evening on the college constructing and go to their vacation spot when the rain stops.
They accepted their suggestion and took shelter there.
However, the 5 males returned late within the evening, beat up the brother and chased him away.
When they tried to rape the woman, she ran to the roof of the college constructing and jumped from there critically injuring herself, police mentioned.
Hearing her brother’s scream for assist, locals rushed to the spot and alerted the police.
Police personnel reached the village, rescued the woman and admitted her to the hospital.
“Based on the statement of the victim’s brother, all five people have been detained. Interrogation is underway,” mentioned P B Rout, IIC of Kalinga Nagar police station.
