Ganesh Puja fervour in Odisha’s Steel City Rourkela

ROURKELA/BHAWANIPATNA: The Steel City wore a festive search for Ganesh Puja which was celebrated with the same old pomp and gaiety at a number of locations after a niche of two years. The pageant is well known broadly within the metropolis which has a sizeable focus of non-Odia folks. People have been seen pandal-hopping on the civil township, Basanti Colony, Chhend Colony and Bondamunda.  

However, organisers of some puja committees within the metropolis complained of the unavailability of ample house to organise the puja. The pandal at Ganesh Chowk was once the key attraction of the town. But after the railways acquired its unused land within the space, puja was stopped on the venue.

Similarly, the puja was organised on a grand scale on the Uditnagar parade floor which is now being developed right into a sports activities advanced.  

Meanwhile, within the Kalahandi district, 5 college students of Durgamadhab High School have been critically injured after being attacked by a swarm of bees once they have been celebrating Ganesh Puja on the varsity premises.
They have been admitted to Kalampur neighborhood well being centre.
