Gajapti: Youth Arrested For Kidnapping Minor Girl On Pretext Of Marriage

Mohana: Gajapati district police on Monday arrested a youth for kidnapping a minor lady on the pretext of marriage at Kidasing village of the district. The accused has been recognized as Damburu Paika.
Paika reportedly kidnapped the minor lady assuring her to marry on March 10. However, the lady’s grandfather lodged a grievance with the Child Helpline. Based on which, the members of the Child Helpline together with the Mohana police rescued the lady from Chandragiri Market.
Both Paika and the lady have been delivered to Mohana police station, after which cops arrested the youth on the idea of the case filed in opposition to him by the lady’s grandfather.
On the opposite hand, the lady was despatched for a medical examination, stated the supply including that she is now beneath the supervision of the Child Helpline.
Some days later the minor lady shall be handed over to the Child Welfare Committee, knowledgeable the sources.
