Four killed, one lacking on account of heavy rain in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: With the dying of yet another individual on account of wall collapse on Tuesday, the dying toll because of the heavy rains in Odisha has risen to 4, officers mentioned.
As per the state of affairs report ready by Special Relief Commissioner P.Ok. Jena’s workplace, the dying was reported from Ganjam district whereas one individual is lacking in Nischintakoili block of Cuttack.
On Monday, two deaths in Kendrapara district on account of wall collapse and one in Khordha on account of drowning have been reported.
Over 20.46 lakh individuals in 111 blocks and 27 city native our bodies of 20 districts have been affected because of the heavy rainfall.
The authorities has evacuated 13,534 individuals from affected areas in seven districts whereas 2, 870 homes have been broken within the rain, as per the report.
Meanwhile, Jena has requested all District Collectors to submit injury reviews by September 22.
“Assessment of damage to the properties in different sectors such as houses, agriculture (crop loss of 33 per cent & above), sand cast of agriculture land, loss of cattle, etc and enumeration of beneficiaries have to be taken up on priority so that the assistance as per norms of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) can be paid to the affected persons expeditiously to enable them to repair/reconstruct their houses and restore livelihood,” he mentioned in a letter.
