Five-member household discovered lifeless in Thiruvananthapuram district

Five members of a household at Chathanpara close to Kallambalam in Thiruvananthapuram district have been discovered lifeless underneath mysterious circumstances on Saturday.

The deceased are Manikuttan (54), his spouse Sandhya (46), their kids Abhijith (16),  Ameeya (12) and Manikuttan’s mom’s sister Devaki Amma (78). The Kallambalam police have registered a case as per Section 174 (Unnatural loss of life) of Indian Penal Code.

According to police, Manikuttan was discovered hanging in a room and others have been discovered consuming poison. The police suspect that Manikuttan had dedicated suicide after giivng poison ot the members of the family.

Manikuttan was in debt and he was working a small retailer at Chathanpara. Two days in the past, the panchayat officers requested him to shut the store. Since then, he was in a depressed state, This may be the rationale for taking the intense step, police stated.

The police have begun the probe to search out out the rationale for loss of life. The inquest examination is in progress and a forensic workforce would look at the spot quickly.
