THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A day after KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran dropped a touch that former chief minister Oommen Chandy might contest from Nemom meeting constituency in Thiruvananthapuram, the previous has made a somersault saying that the senior chief needn’t shift his constituency from Puthuppally.

The clarification comes after ‘A’ group leaders allegedly expressed their sturdy displeasure at such a transfer. Interestingly, a piece of the Congress leaders vouch that Oommen Chandy will likely be contesting from Puthuppally in addition to Nemom.

The information on Chandy more likely to be fielded from Nemom or from every other constituency in Thiruvananthapuram district got here on the eve of Opposition chief Ramesh Chennithala’s ‘Aishwarya Kerala Yatra’.

While the ‘A’ group accused the rival camp of spreading the information, leaders belonging to the ‘I’ group claimed that they wouldn’t dare to give you such a proposal which might divert the eye to Chandy. Some leaders really feel that this can be a deliberate transfer by the ‘A’ group itself to check the waters. A senior KPCC common secretary instructed TNIE that the group has achieved its goal and Mullappally’s change of stand isn’t a difficulty.

“The party has already taken a decision, but the top leaders including Chandy will keep denying it. The debate has been initiated. Only a leader of Chandy’s stature can wrest the lost glory of the Congress in Thiruvananthapuram and its neighbouring districts against the strides being made by BJP. Chandy will not abandon Puthuppally, but will also contest from Nemom,” mentioned a KPCC common secretary.

Mullappally demanded to know the supply behind the information and maintained that there is no such thing as a level in holding discussions on it. He mentioned Chandy needn’t shift his constituency from Puthuppally. The Congress camp is hoping to money in on the minority consolidation in favour of Chandy in Nemom.

At the identical time, a piece of Congress leaders. together with Ok Muraleedharan, MP, feels that it is going to be higher if Chandy contests from Vattiyoorkavu. Muraleedharan has causes to disfavour Chandy contesting from Nemom because the celebration equipment has been weak there ever because the seat was allotted to Janata Dal (United), which has now grow to be Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD).
