Electoral malpractices in Kerala postal voting, alleges Opposition chief Chennithala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala on Friday alleged that there have been widespread malpractices within the technique of casting postal votes by electors within the important service class and authorities officers. The Election Commission has didn’t take motion towards the malpractices regardless of it was intimated, he mentioned.

“Around 3.5 lakh voters cast vote at the special postal voting centres opened across the state. Now a good number of these officials were delivered postal ballots at their residence or officials address to exercise their franchise. This would create twin votes for the officials and duplication of votes. This should not have happened”, he mentioned. 

It must be cross checked whether or not it was a deliberate mistake dedicated by officers, he mentioned in a criticism filed to the Election Commission. He additionally put ahead a five-point options to verify the malpractices.
